As a tertiary academic medical and cancer center, we offer an engaging and varied clinical practice encompassing both pediatric and adult anesthesiology. This opportunity is ideal for a fellowship-trained pediatric anesthesiologist who values caring for children while maintaining a broad clinical practice within a supportive academic environment.

At Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, we are committed to fostering a collegial, supportive, and family-friendly environment where physicians can thrive professionally and personally. Located in New Hampshire’s Upper Valley, our community offers an exceptional quality of life, with access to outdoor recreation, vibrant local communities, and the cultural and educational resources of a major academic center. We value work-life balance and offer the opportunity to build a rewarding career while enjoying all that northern New England has to offer.

What You’ll Do

• Provide anesthetic care for both pediatric and adult patients, with pediatric assignments prioritized within a varied academic clinical practice.

• Manage a broad spectrum of pediatric cases, from routine ambulatory procedures to complex surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents.

• Provide care across a range of pediatric settings, supported by a 30-bed Level III NICU, PICU, and expanding pediatric procedural services.

• Participate in pediatric non-operating room anesthesia (NORA), with opportunities to support the continued growth of pediatric anesthesia services throughout the region.

• Collaborate with surgeons, pediatric specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

• Engage in teaching and mentorship of anesthesiology residents and medical students within a program that welcomes eight anesthesiology residents annually.

• Contribute to the academic mission of the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College through clinical education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and opportunities for research and academic advancement.

• Help advance clinical excellence and the continued development of pediatric anesthesia services while maintaining a broad and engaging clinical practice.

Why You’ll Love This Practice

• Enjoy a balanced schedule with 1,680 weekday clinical hours annually, equivalent to 10 weeks off per year.

• Receive competitive shift-based compensation, with premium pay for shifts beyond standard clinical hours.

• Benefit from the resources and academic connection of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, including opportunities for teaching and professional development.

• Receive up to $15,000 in relocation assistance, based on mileage, to help make your move easier.
